Monster Fish: Potential World-Record Trahira Caught in Suriname

Share

Straight out of your nightmares comes this beast from Suriname’s South River. It’s a Trahira, and the Jurassic-looking monster crushed a Sebile lure cast by Oliver Charpentier on a guided trip with Martin Beenes.

Impressively, it took only five minutes for Charpentier to land the leviathan, and once a quick snapshot was taken, the fish was released to prowl the waters once again. Taping out at 97 cm, the catch qualifies for a potential new all-tackle length record which currently stands at 94 cm.
