Montauk, NY -- On June 18-19, the 24th Annual Star Island Shark Tournament was held at Star Island Yacht Club. One hundred sixty-eight boats participated in the two-day event, with 15 threshers and seven makos being weighed in and more than $500,000 in total prize money were paid out. Of the sharks that were weighed in, over 750 pounds of edible shark meat was donated to the Long Island Council of Churches food pantry to help feed those in need!
